Chris Silvia is passionate about helping students become thoughtful, data-informed leaders in public and nonprofit service. He is an Associate Professor in the Romney Institute of Public Management at BYU, where he teaches courses on quantitative analysis, collaboration, and service design. He earned a PhD in Public Affairs from Indiana University, an MPA from BYU, and an MS in Public Health from the University of Utah. His research examines leadership in cross-sector networks and has been published in top journals such as Public Administration Review and The Leadership Quarterly. He enjoys mentoring students who want to strengthen communities through research, innovation, and collaboration.

Beyond campus, Chris plays the bagpipes with the White Peaks Centennial Pipe Band and enjoys canoeing, cooking, and following Liverpool FC. He and his wife together have three children and love spending time as a family.
