Eva Witesman

Director

Eva has hope for a better world and believes in our role as stewards to increase human flourishing and decrease human suffering. Known for her hands-on, community-engaged teaching style, Eva teaches classes in the Ballard Center and in the BYU MPA and MBA programs that focus on government and nonprofit management, prosocial business, and program evaluation. She received her PhD from Indiana University Bloomington and joined the BYU faculty in January 2009. Her research and publications focus on the nonprofit sector, government values, and conscious capitalism. Her international work includes co-leading a global conversation circle for the UN Commission on the Status of Women and serving on the Corporate Council of the International Religious Freedom Secretariat.

Eva actively integrates spirituality into her professional and personal endeavors, frequently lecturing and leading workshops on topics such as spiritual gifts, facing challenging gospel questions, and religious freedom at work. Her BYU devotional on women and education is required viewing in several courses on campus, and was included in an anthology of influential Latter-day Saint speeches published by the University of Illinois Press.
