Lisa Jones Christensen

Lisa is an organizational psychologist, a professor of management at the Marriott School of Business, and head of the Business for Good program at the Ballard Center. Her research focuses on resilience, with an emphasis on entrepreneurship and innovation, particularly among women and in the contexts of extreme poverty. Lisa earned her PhD from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as well as an MBA and MA in international development from BYU.

Prior to academia, she worked for a decade in Silicon Valley, and co-founded HELP International, a nonprofit which fosters economic self-reliance and social entrepreneurship in developing economies. Lisa is a proponent for the effective use of for-profit tools to enact positive social change. As the head of Business for Good, she acts as a resource and mentor for students hoping to harness the power of the market to generate a profit and drive social change.
