She leads the Marketing and Communications team in their efforts to elevate the caliber and relevance of the Ballard Center brand by 1) Building a world-wide welcoming community of tens of thousands of individuals seeking to Do Good. Better. 2) Sharing valuable resources that position the Ballard Center as a thought leader in faith-based social impact and 3) Enhancing the center’s reputation and online presence through excellent storytelling, design and digital media. Highlights from her 3+ years working at the Ballard Center have included mentoring dozens of students and seeing their abilities grow, optimizing the SEO for Ballard Brief to help them reach 1.2M+ annual views, publishing Impact Reports that have inspired $260K+ in donations, creating our own in-house video production studio and publishing 30+ videos.
Following her fulltime mission to Los Angeles, Jess received a BA in Spanish from the U of U in 2013, a film production certificate from UCLA in 2018, and then completed her MBA from BYU in 2024. Prior to her work at the Ballard Center, she ran her own video production company and built the Bagpipe Master brand with her husband, which has garnered millions of views on YouTube and continues to delight 49K+ subscribers.
